Exential is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Modular Systems team in McKinney, TX
. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and designers to develop 3D model content and construction documents for piping, ductwork, and cable-tray systems. You will support BIM coordination, assist with field activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our modular design and construction processes.
- Develop 3D model content and produce construction documents for piping, ductwork, and cable-tray systems.
- Participate in BIM coordination by identifying and resolving model clashes and other interdisciplinary issues.
- Assist with on-site project activities, including engineering support for modular construction, site assessments, and verification of as-built conditions.
- Support the project team in determining optimal routing and layout of mechanical systems based on space-management requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the company.
- Coordinate mechanical system layouts with other trades to ensure alignment and constructability.
- Assist in developing project deliverables in accordance with design documents and Engineer-of-Record specifications.
- Support the production of fabrication drawings under the guidance of lead designers and engineers.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
- Assist in performing quality-control reviews of work produced by others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- An Associate's Degree with a technical focus is preferred.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Experience with Autodesk Building Systems Software
.
- Experience in Advanced Technology environments.
- Demonstrated success working within a collaborative team setting.
- Experience participating in quality-control review processes.
- Experience contributing to continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with Revit and Navisworks
. - Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across disciplines.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
