Our Airborne RF Electronics Design Department has an immediate need for a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide senior‑level radar hardware leadership across production and sustainment environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on CCA/LRA hardware expertise, strong radar engineering proficiency, and demonstrated ability to lead complex investigations and mentor technical teams.

This role is critical to maintaining technical rigor, ensuring hardware performance through production, and strengthening execution across a diverse radar hardware portfolio. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and leadership, and includes periodic travel for supplier engagement. The role resides within the Surveillance & Tactical Radar Support​ section supporting Sharp Sight & Legacy Sea Vue products at Raytheon’s McKinney, TX facility.

What You Will Do:

Leads development and integration of advanced electrical designs with significant technical complexity, safety implications, and program risk.

Makes independent technical decisions that influence subsystem architecture, interfaces, and downstream engineering activities.

Expected to resolve high-impact issues without oversight.

Provides technical direction to P1/P2/P3 engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams (systems, mechanical, software, manufacturing).Leads design reviews, failure investigations, and cross-discipline problem‑solving sessions.

Acts as the primary electrical engineering representative for suppliers and customer engagements.

Develops and deploys design standards, best practices, and process improvements used across programs.

Drives design maturity, risk mitigation plans, and improvement opportunities

Influences technical strategy and contributes to proposal development, BOEs, and bid support.

Mentors junior engineers, provides technical feedback, and supports skill development within the team.

Contributes to staffing plans and competency development for electrical
