Forest Creek Capital LLC is a unique private investment firm and wants to buildthe best quantitative oriented portfolio management team in the industry. Weare seeking to hire exceptionally talented and entrepreneurial thinkers todesign and develop cutting-edge quantitative models and systems.

Quantitative research analysts work closely with the otherteam members to design and build predictive models and optimization engines for use in our trading strategies. Our analysts have end to end ownership from quantitative strategy development to deployment. Multiple positions are available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate portfolio management and security/derivatives selection strategy using statistical and data mining methodologies such as Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms and Multi-Factor Regression models etc.
  • Use stochastic calculus to develop the pricing for derivatives (e.g., options)
  • Perform validation and testing of portfolio exposures, performance, risk, factor biases to ensure that portfolios remain suitable for the return-risk constraints under all market conditions
  • Conduct advanced analysis of trading and market data to identify underlying factors, provide decision support tools and develop mathematical models and recommendations for improving our/clients’ trading processes
  • Develop optimum return-risk trade-offs using operational research (e.g., constrained optimization) and risk management techniques (e.g., industry standard risk valuation techniques such as Value at Risk and Principal Component Analysis (PCA))
  • Present a plan including flowcharts and diagrams to convert the valuation and risk management algorithms into a sequence of steps

  • Convert project specifications into a sequence of detailed instruction and logical steps of a language processable by a computer utilizing different platforms/languages such as MYSQL, PHP, Python, JAVA and WEKA, etc.
  • Test, maintain, and monitor other computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems that incorporate these project specifications
Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, operations research, or related quantitative field;
  • Internship, research project or work experience involving substantial application of mathematics, statistics, and programming to real-world problems (minimum 2 months).
  • Mathematics & Statistics:
    Advanced coursework including calculus, probability, and statistics; ability to apply stochastic calculus and quantitative methods to financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Programming & Computational Methods:
    Proficiency in Python and algorithmic logic; ability to design, test, and implement quantitative models using programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
  • Quantitative & Analytical

    Skills:

    Knowledge of optimization, regression modeling, and risk management techniques (e.g., Value at Risk, PCA); ability to develop and validate predictive models.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving:
    Capacity to evaluate complex datasets, identify anomalies, synthesize case studies, and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Communication & Presentation:
    Ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations; prepare and deliver structured presentations of quantitative research.
Our Recruitment Process

The Forest Creek Capital recruitment process is consistent with the practices of the quantitative finance industry. We maintain an active recruiting program across multiple university campuses. Each year, we screen over 400 resumes and shortlist 30-40 candidates. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 scale. Candidates are required to complete math, statistics, and programming proficiency tests administered by online assessment platforms such as Hacker Rank.

A minimum score higher than top quartile score is required to advance. Passing candidates participate in an informational interview to determine interest in the role, availability, willingness to relocate, and cultural fit.

Candidates who advance are invited to Forest Creek Capital’s office. Candidates are given a data analysis case study, business case study, and live coding exercise to assess competency. Candidates may be asked to complete one on one interviews with team members focused on statistical knowledge, quantitative problem-solving, and technical fluency. Candidates are then invited to give a 30-minute presentation on a topic of their choice.
