Role Overview
Sr. Financial Analyst (Hybrid)
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role supports executive leadership with timely, high-quality, and accurate annual operating plans, long-term forecasts, and quarterly revisions. It involves developing and maintaining business analysis, forecasting, and planning processes, building complex financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards, and preparing financial reports and executive presentations for senior management, the Board of Directors, and key stakeholders.
Location:
McKinney, Texas – hybrid (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday‑Thursday).
- Forecast and report financial results monthly, quarterly, and annually using performance management software, providing analysis, insight, and forward‑looking impact on business and financials.
- Conduct comprehensive variance analysis, identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities, and recommend course corrections to functional department heads and executive leadership.
- Support the design and optimization of Adaptive’s planning modules, workflows, and dashboards to engage planners and approvers.
- Partner with sales and business functions to provide key financial reporting, analytical decision support, and action plans that drive efficiency and profitability.
- Organize complex information into strategic, compelling presentations, reports, and dashboards using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Lead the company’s annual planning cycle, including calendar development, deliverable coordination, checklists, and communication of expectations.
- Recommend and drive change management efforts with business partners to improve reporting accuracy, reduce inefficiencies, and eliminate redundancies.
- Evaluate current financial planning processes and tools, and lead implementation or refinement of new financial planning and reporting software.
- Participate in project and initiative teams, challenging assumptions and providing financial perspective to drive outcomes.
- Be flexible with work hours, including occasional long hours and weekend work, to meet quarterly reporting deadlines.
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related business field; MBA preferred.
- 5‑7 years of experience in a large corporate environment managing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and operational expense management.
- Expert level Microsoft Excel skills with experience in systems and reporting for analysis.
- Experience with corporate performance management software solutions such as Adaptive;
Anaplan is a plus. - Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
- Experience building and maintaining complex financial models using large data sets.
- Experience with statistical, analytics, and database software (SQL, SAS).
- Holding or actively pursuing a CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to forecast income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships with senior leaders and provide clear, compelling messages.
- Self‑motivated, initiative‑driven, able to work independently, and adept at solving issues and presenting solutions.
- Ability to balance urgency with detail‑orientation and deliver accurate financial information.
- Willingness to persist through obstacles and accommodate the rigor of the annual and quarterly reporting cycle.
