Felony Investigator

Collin County Government is seeking candidates for the position of Felony Investigator. Reporting to the Chief Criminal Investigator, a Felony Investigator assists with the investigation of crimes and suspects. The position requires a level of education equivalent to a four years of high school or equivalency and at least six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school level.

Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Texas Peace Officer Certification and TLETS Certification are required. Previous experience in felony investigations is preferred.

Primary Functions:

• Assists with investigations of crimes and suspects by obtaining evidence and issuing subpoenas.
• Coordinates court appearances, prepares evidence for court presentation, and obtains documentation on defendants' prior convictions.
• Handles witness-related issues, investigates felony check cases, swears in witnesses in court, gives warnings, performs the requests of the Grand Jury, and coordinates training classes.
• Performs related other duties as assigned.

Compensation:
Starting Salary: $86,000 per year
