Job Description
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Public Information Officer. This position coordinates public relations activities designed to provide County employees, citizens and area media with current information regarding pertinent aspects of County operations. Provides direct support to Commissioners' Court in the areas of public information and media relations and serves as a spokesperson for the Court, when assigned.
Develops and implements county public information policies and procedures. Plans, designs, writes and edits new releases, newsletters, informational articles, pamphlets and brochures, legislative testimony, speeches and other materials. Coordinates and conducts press conferences, public meetings, and receptions and organizes special media events. Conducts and/or arranges tours of County facilities. Performs other related duties as required.
Candidates must have knowledge normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree. At least five years of experience in public relations, journalism, organizational communications, marketing, or related field, intermediate computer skills and a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record are required.
CompensationStarting Salary: $81,132per year
