Position Objectives
We are a growing outpatient therapy clinic focused on compassionate, patient-centered care. Our team is dedicated to creating individualized treatment plans that promote recovery, independence, and overall well-being. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team, with the potential for full-time opportunities as our client base continues to expand.
Position Activities and Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to promote and maintain patient health.
- Assist in identifying patient care issues to contribute to the effectiveness of the Physical Therapist.
- Administer treatment programs for patients, ensuring alignment with individualized care plans.
- Assess patient health by interviewing, performing physical examinations, and reviewing therapy history.
- Evaluate abnormal conditions based on interpretations of patient evaluations and test results by the Physical Therapist.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient records accurately.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including manual exercises, and assist patients in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
- Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with other Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants to provide effective care.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and infection-control protocols.
- Ensure legal and accreditation compliance by following federal, state, and local regulations and JCAHO standards.
- Engage in continuing education opportunities to update job knowledge, including participation in professional organizations, reading periodicals, and maintaining personal networks.
- Make referrals to other team members as needed for additional treatments or services.
- Associate degree for Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Must pass a state-administered exam or the National Physical Therapy Exam by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong physiological knowledge and understanding of health promotion and maintenance.
- Ability to create a safe and effective treatment environment.
- Strong clinical skills, including the ability to assess and respond to subtle changes in patient conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Dependable, resourceful, and responsive to patient needs and clinic goals.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
