Role Description

The Credentialing Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in McKinney, TX, responsible for supporting provider enrollment, privileging, and payor credentialing activities. This role reviews, verifies, and maintains provider credentials and documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory, payor, and organizational standards. The Credentialing Specialist communicates with providers, payors, and internal teams to gather required information, resolve discrepancies, and track application status. Daily tasks may include updating databases, preparing credentialing packets, monitoring expirations, and assisting with audits and reporting.

The individual in this role collaborates closely with operations, billing, and compliance teams to help ensure timely reimbursement and uninterrupted patient care.

Qualifications
  • Credentialing and provider enrollment skills, including experience with payor applications, privileging processes, and verification of licenses and certifications.
  • Administrative and data management skills, such as accurate data entry, document organization, and proficiency with credentialing or healthcare management software.
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness related to healthcare credentialing, including familiarity with state, federal, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission).
  • Communication and collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication, professional phone and email etiquette, and the ability to work effectively with clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, track deadlines, and resolve discrepancies in provider information.
  • Prior experience in medical credentialing, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in McKinney, TX, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and uphold patient-focused organizational values.
