, to maintain kitchen sanitation and support daily culinary operations. This role ensures that every dish, pot, and surface meets brand standards and regulatory requirements, directly contributing to a safe, well-run dining environment.
As a steward, your primary responsibility is cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen areas while operating commercial dishwashing equipment. Because the company operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, shift variations in days, start times, and weekly hours are standard. Beyond routine cleaning, you must promptly report emergencies, safety hazards, or policy deviations to management.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the dishwashing machine, including proper rack stacking and silver presoaking
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Maintain mop stations with mops, buckets, brooms, and proper cleaning solutions; sweep and mop floors
- Keep floors clean and dry, addressing wet spills immediately to prevent accidents
- Clean walls, tables, sinks, floor mats, disposal areas, and ceiling vents
- Deep-clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, steam tables, and ceiling vents according to schedule
- Empty all trash receptacles, wash them out, and return them to the kitchen
- Write shift reports documenting incidents of theft, accidents, or injuries when assigned
- Attend department meetings and participate in task forces or committees as requested
- Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates
Candidates should hold a high school education or equivalent relevant experience. Familiarity with hospitality industry practices is preferred but not mandatory. You must demonstrate the ability to operate specialized equipment including dishwashers, burnishers, steam cleaners, and cardboard bailers.
