Location:
Lewisville, Texas. Hybrid. Compensation: $165,000 to $175,000 DOE. This position is bonus eligible.
We are seeking a Labor & Employment Lawyer with wage and hour experience to provide national responsibility for advice, counsel, and litigation management in emergency medical services.
This Attorney will focus on wage & hour compliance, litigation, and supporting payroll and HR functions. Special knowledge of wage & hour law, complicated state laws, benefits administration, and collective bargaining agreements is a plus. High‑profile position, no two days the same. - Support payroll, HR, and business operations to ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws in developing compensation strategy, integrating pay systems, and executing pay practices.
- Conduct or oversee audits of pay practices, ensure data accuracy, and provide guidance to correct wage and hour gaps.
- Stay current with wage and hour laws and regulatory requirements and proactively communicate guidance.
- Work with and advise HR, payroll, business partners and other functional teams on wage and hour laws, compliance, and employment‑related issues across the country.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with all levels directly, and provide guidance and practical solutions for corporate initiatives.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders.
- Assist other departments in reviewing legal issues, including personnel, employee relations and labor relations issues.
- Deliver training and direction to leaders throughout the company.
- Effectively prioritize and manage concurrent projects with competing company demands.
- Manage outside counsel regarding wage and hour matters.
- Lead and advise on cross‑functional projects and support legal and business operations as needed.
- 4–7 years of experience counseling clients on wage and hour matters, employment advice, investigations and employment litigation.
- Awareness of new or pending federal and state legislation, rules, regulations and industry developments.
- Experience working independently and cross‑functionally.
- Experience taking on complex projects.
- Labor and employment background.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced legal environment.
- Client‑service and commercial orientation.
