Overview
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of a Functional Analyst – Facilities. A Functional Analyst – Facilities is responsible for, but not limited to, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and modifying assigned databases and software applications; monitoring systems for integration issues; and testing updates. The role also involves collecting statistical data, creating reports, and automating departmental processes. Work is performed under the direction of the Director of Facilities.
This position is based in the Facilities Department in McKinney, Texas. It is an in-office role with primary working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Primary Functions- Updating and maintaining the department’s database/software, including monitoring for integration issues, resolving configuration problems, coordinating necessary database changes, identifying areas for improvement, and testing updates or new software.
- Evaluating and assessing building and facilities assets throughout their lifecycle by transforming and integrating new and existing data; developing data collection plans using various methods and technologies; documenting processes; and performing change management to support the department’s strategic goals.
- Developing procedures for data visualization to standardize processes and workflows, support asset management strategies, and aid in decision-making.
- Providing support and training to departmental end users, including daily interactions with employees using the database to assist with questions and troubleshooting.
- Mapping and configuring all aspects of software to align with departmental business practices as needed.
- Creating software modifications at the request of the department head.
- Compiling and analyzing statistical data from various modules within the database and produce reports as requested.
- Monitoring and maintaining customized reporting tools used by management to analyze business functions, operational efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
- Designing, generating, and interpreting reports with potential budgetary implications.
- Assisting supervisors in the development and implementation of future hardware and software solutions, and providing general IT support as needed.
- Acting as a liaison between the Facilities Department, software vendors, and other Collin County departments including IT, Purchasing, Budget, and the County Auditor.
- Assisting with special projects requiring information systems data, as requested.
- Documenting clearly all processes and develop procedural manuals.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
- Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in database and software management required.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in asset management, highly preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong technical and analytical skills required.
