About the RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Software Systems Engineer to join our Digital Factory team. The role focuses on design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies within Ignition. Responsibilities include root cause corrective action (RCCA) for hardware and software issues, and support data analytics and visualization. The role collaborates with digital factory engineering, chief engineers/architects, front‑end, and factory leadership across the full product lifecycle.
WhatYou Will Do
- Develop Ignition application projects.
- Contribute to IIoT growth and deployment using sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytic platforms.
- Recommend and execute methods to connect manufacturing equipment to the IIoT/OT network layer.
- Configure communication protocols and network settings on devices (EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, etc.).
- Work on major team projects and solve complex problems with minimal oversight.
- Analyze and correlate large, complex data sets; support digital thread implementation; develop and execute analytics reports and visualization toolsets while ensuring data integrity.
- Travel 10% of the time.
- Exposure to Industry 4.0 experts and digital technologies teams, hands‑on with Ignition, IIoT systems, and factory connectivity.
- Full product lifecycle activities – requirements, development, testing, deployment, sustainment – for digital factory systems.
- Analysis and correlation of large manufacturing data sets, improving digital thread continuity.
- System integration experience that enhances ability to provide reliable, actionable data.
- Technical leadership fundamentals through mentorship and collaboration with engineering leaders.
- Degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws).
- 5+ years of related experience, including Ignition SCADA development using SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, JSON.
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops services framework or similar Agile project management tools.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 concepts – connectivity, data collection, IIoT, systems integration, AI, machine learning, ISA-95, Pub/Sub.
- Experience with data analytics, including preparation, processing, analysis, and visualization of substantial data from multiple sources.
- Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills; experience working across organizational boundaries.
- Ignition gold certification or willingness to achieve within first year.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of scripting and dashboarding.
- Experience building APIs and creating web applications.
- Experience with Splunk, Power
BI, Graph
QL, Tableau, SQL Server, SAP, etc. - Experience with big data and data mining.
- Experience in distributed controls, cyber security, IT infrastructure integration or related fields.
- Experience in manufacturing environment and familiarity with MES.
- Understanding of automation systems (robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.) deployment and integration.
- This position is NOT eligible for relocation.
- Potential location options:

Forest, MS;
Andover, MA; or McKinney, TX. - This position is Onsite: employees work primarily onsite.
Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
