Job OverviewDirector of Business Development for the Proprietary Platforms & Autonomy portfolio. Lead the business development team supporting pursuits and new business capture across domestic and international training, simulation products, collaborative autonomy, and integrated system solutions for proprietary platforms.
Responsibilities- Manage the annual Orders pipeline supporting the Proprietary Platforms business, focusing on competitive pursuits.
- Collaboratively lead multi‑functional capture efforts and go‑to‑market strategies within the Proprietary Programs & Autonomy business.
- Build and mature a small business development team as a functional manager.
- Plan and manage New Business Investment funds.
- Develop and lead strategies within the Value Stream triad (Program Management, Engineering, and Business Development) to shape, define, pursue, and capture new business, including business cases, gate and milestone reviews, competitive intelligence, and price‑to‑win analyses.
- Develop, forecast, and capture new and existing opportunities while maintaining relationships with military service customers.
- Present and articulate compelling business growth opportunities, including market and competitive analysis and price‑to‑win strategies via decision‑point reviews.
- Explore the environment for business and strategic growth opportunities.
- Prepare and support company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses, strategic financial plans, and annual operations planning.
- Travel approximately 25‑50% of the time.
- Minimum 14 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable Top Secret security clearance required before start.
- Proven leadership in new business pursuit and capture.
- Deep experience with U.S. Department of Defense acquisition processes, including PPBE, and ability to interact with DoD subject matter experts.
- Experience at military Service level (CJCS, Army Staff, USAF ACC, USN OPNAV, FLEET/TYCOM/MAJCOM/CECOM) is highly desired, as is experience in Special Access Program environments.
- Strong background in DoD war fighting CONOPS and kill chains.
- Industry experience in the development and execution of new business capture strategies.
- Experience with USAF tactical air CONOPS, platforms, and mission systems, including manned and unmanned platforms.
- Experience working in Special Access Program environments.
- Experience with military training and simulation systems and programs.
