Responsibilities
- Formulates, develops, and implements integrated network architectures for medium-to-large computing environments.
- Understands current and emerging security threats in order to appropriately design security solutions to mitigate threats where possible.
- Responsible for delivering technical recommendations to enhance the infrastructure while at the same time maintaining or enhancing security
- Analyzes and determines budget requirements, current computer and network systems technology, and available vendor offerings to establish optimum computer, security and network architecture solutions; plans future enhancements and directions for the enterprise-wide computer network.
- Develops standards for computer, security and network systems, to include standards for wiring, equipment, system security, and routing protocol.
- Provides logical project management implementation skills in respect to planning, designing, documenting, implementing, testing and support of computer, security and network architecture, coordinates efforts with other stakeholders and external organizations and agencies.
- Provides planning, leadership, direction, and advanced technical expertise regarding computer and network services for both local and wide area networks, and the worldwide Internet; serves as high-level technical expert in regard to computer, security and network systems and associated issues.
- May serve as primary point of contact and liaison with vendors; reviews vendor products, and coordinates and facilitates vendor interviews and presentations.
- May participate in negotiations of exact technical requirements with vendors; help establish contracts and write technical contract specifications and proposals.
- Demonstrates ability to translate business drivers and priorities into security design.
- Designs, develops, and delivers training classes and workshops in areas of computer, security and network systems to other staff.
- Installs, configures, and maintains computer, security and network operating system and application software, as appropriate; provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.
- Maintains a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer, security, network systems technologies, architectures, and products.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Provides timely and accurate responses as well as assist in the investigation/analysis of security incidents, legal matters, and escalation management in an on-call operational environment.
- Provide support for escalated issues regarding applicable security devices;
Ensure SLA compliance for all urgent support tickets and vendor contracts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
Work LocationMcKinney, TX with required travel to client locations throughout the USA.
