This role provides complete information technology support for a group of affiliated companies operating under one ownership umbrella. As the sole IT professional, you will serve every entity below as a single, unified IT function:

  • Bedrock Landscaping — commercial and residential landscaping
  • Select Excavation — site preparation and excavation
  • RPM Utilities — underground and utility infrastructure
  • Luxe Contractors — general contracting and construction
POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Manager is a hands-on, one-person department responsible for overseeing and executing all information technology functions across the group of companies. This person is both the strategist and the technician — planning and budgeting for technology while also physically setting up computers, troubleshooting phones, and resolving day-to-day help-desk issues. The ideal candidate is a self-directed generalist who is comfortable owning everything from network security and vendor management to unboxing a new laptop and walking an employee through a password reset.

Because this is a standalone role, the IT Manager must be resourceful, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing competing needs across multiple businesses and job sites. Success in this position means keeping every company's technology running reliably, securely, and cost-effectively with minimal downtime.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all technology issues across the companies, providing prompt, friendly support to employees in the office and in the field.
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones for new and existing employees.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and connectivity problems, escalating to vendors when necessary.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding — provisioning accounts, equipment, and access, and securely recovering assets on separation.
Systems, Network & Infrastructure
  • Administer and maintain networks, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, firewalls, and internet connectivity across all office and yard locations.
  • Manage servers, cloud services, file storage, backups, and disaster-recovery processes to protect company data.
  • Administer email, user accounts, and productivity platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace).
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues before they cause downtime.
Phones & Communications
  • Manage the company phone systems (mobile devices, VoIP / desk phones, and voicemail) including provisioning, plans, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with telecom and cellular carriers on service, billing, upgrades, and new lines.
Security & Data Protection
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures — antivirus/endpoint protection, password policies, multi-factor authentication, and staff security awareness.
  • Ensure regular, tested data backups and maintain a documented recovery plan.
  • Manage user permissions and access controls to safeguard sensitive company information.
  • Research, recommend, and purchase hardware, software, licenses, and IT services within approved budgets.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, internet/telecom providers, and outside IT contractors when specialized help is needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, licenses, and warranties across the companies.
  • Track IT spending, identify cost savings, and assist leadership with technology budgeting and planning.
  • Create and maintain simple documentation, procedures, and basic training for staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience covering help desk, hardware, networking, and systems administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace, networking fundamentals, and common business software.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and troubleshooting computers, laptops, mobile phones, printers, and phone systems.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, backups, and data protection.
