This is an onsite position to start and will transfer to a hybrid position after 90 days.
Position Summary
Cyberlocke is seeking a Business Analyst – Data Modernization to support the planning, discovery, design, implementation, and adoption of enterprise data modernization initiatives.
The Business Analyst serves as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and Cyberlocke's technical delivery teams, translating business objectives, operational processes, reporting requirements, data challenges, and compliance needs into clearly defined requirements that can be implemented by data architects, data engineers, analytics developers, governance specialists, cloud engineers, and other technical resources.
This role is especially important during customer discovery and throughout implementation. The Business Analyst will help clients understand their current data environment, identify business and data requirements, document the desired future state, prioritize use cases, define acceptance criteria, facilitate stakeholder decisions, and ensure delivered solutions address measurable business outcomes.
Cyberlocke's Data Modernization practice includes services involving Microsoft Fabric, One Lake, data integration and transformation, analytics and Power BI, data governance, data quality, cloud data platforms, AI readiness, security and compliance, and ongoing managed data operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis capabilities with an understanding of modern data platforms, analytics, governance, and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Discovery and Requirements Analysis
- Lead and facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering meetings with client business and technical teams.
- Develop a clear understanding of the client's business objectives, operational processes, data environment, reporting requirements, pain points, risks, and modernization goals.
- Translate business needs into clear functional, data, analytics, reporting, governance, security, and operational requirements.
- Identify and document business problems that can be addressed through improved data integration, automation, analytics, governance, or modernization.
- Define business use cases and expected outcomes for modernization initiatives.
- Identify stakeholder priorities and reconcile conflicting requirements between departments or business units.
- Help customers distinguish between business requirements, technical requirements, and future-state opportunities.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Current-State Assessment
- Assist with assessments of the client's current data ecosystem, including applications, data sources, databases, spreadsheets, reporting platforms, integrations, processes, and business workflows.
