About the Role
As a Press Operator you will be responsible for operating a progressive stamping press in a manner that achieves safety, quality, efficiency, LEAN, and production goals. You will work weekends (Friday – Sunday 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM) and receive a $2.50 shift differential for every hour worked.
Responsibilities- Operate any and all presses as needed to support department and company goals (80% of your time).
- Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Use air or electric powered hand tools and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Count, package, and palletize finished product in accordance with work orders, handling cartons, labels, coils of steel, pallets, and packaging tape.
- Assist other personnel with press set‑ups and changeovers.
- Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements.
- Support 20% of your time in other departmental tasks as required.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- One month of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Safety:
Consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment. - Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack.
- Attendance:
Demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance. - Mathematical reasoning:
Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. - Reading comprehension:
Read and write simple correspondence and follow instructions. - Analysis/reasoning:
Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Communication:
Communicate one‑on‑one and in small group settings. - Measurements:
Read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance, use combination squares to measure angles to +/- 1 degree, and use and read a micrometer.
- Regularly stand, walk, see, talk, and hear; occasionally sit.
- Operate large equipment while standing for approximately 8–12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
- Possible exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
- No travel required.
Salary: $19.00 per hour. Shift differential: $2.50 per hour for weekend shifts. The position is full‑time, non‑exempt and located in McKinney, TX.
