Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packeter Operator with experience in operating and maintaining packaging equipment, specifically the Ropack, Solpac, and Popsicle machines. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment, adhere to quality standards, and maintain compliance with Batch Production Records (BPRs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This includes equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring an efficient and safe production process.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation:
- Operate and monitor the Ropack, Solpac, and Popsicle machines according to BPRs and cGMPs.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Load and unload products and materials into machines as necessary.
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines, including plumbing and electrical work.
- Clean and sanitize machines regularly to meet hygiene and food safety standards.
- Report major machine malfunctions to maintenance personnel for immediate attention.
- Ensure equipment is well-maintained and perform troubleshooting when issues arise.
Quality Control & Documentation:
- Conduct in-process checks to ensure production parameters are within specified ranges, as outlined in batch records.
- Record production data, including batch numbers, quantities, and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation as per batch records, SOPs, and formula requirements.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Follow proper handling procedures for ingredients and materials.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Team Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with the production team to ensure production goals are met.
- Assist in training new operators and team members when necessary.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production performance and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- 1-3 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing in a GMP environment or operating machinery in a production setting.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with the Ropack, Solpac, and Popsicle machines is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues and perform minor repairs.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, and bending for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with shifts based on the production schedule.
- The work environment may be noisy, and temperature may fluctuate depending on the production process.
