RN Labor and Delivery

Provide care for patients utilizing fetal and maternal monitoring equipment. Manage the patient's pain including epidural and patient controlled analgesia administration. Assist physician during delivery, treatment, examination and surgical procedures. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Provide patient and family education on labor, pain and newborn care.

Patient Population:
Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation Number of Beds: 10 Labor and Delivery Suites, 4 obstetrical emergency beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU beds, 5 high risk antepartum beds.

Strong team atmosphere and culture of unity, over 200+ deliveries per month, Board-Certified OB Physician on-site 24/7, numerous labor support tools, strong focus on quality and process improvement, including active participation in the Texas AIM Plus initiative, focus on individual's career and future goals, and strong unit nursing certification rate.

Registered Nurse Requirements Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program 2 YEARS OF LABOR AND DELIVERY EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED License/Certification RN – Registered Nurse BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
