Infusion​/Clinic RN II- PRN- McKinney

Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to support the Infusion and Clinic departments at the McKinney location. Typical hours are Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Administer all medications / blood products using correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.
• Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

• Level I:
  Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred; RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must maintain continuing education requirements; entry‑level 0‑3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level II:
  Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level Senior:
  In addition to Level I and II, minimum five (5) years nursing experience—including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
