We are seeking a compassionate, clinically confident Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing pediatric allergy and immunology team. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a protocol-driven environment, remains calm under pressure, and enjoys building long-term relationships with children and their families.
As a key member of our team, you will guide patients through allergy immunotherapy treatments, monitor for reactions, educate families, and play a critical role in delivering safe, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care- Administer patient dosing and updosing visits according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients throughout observation periods and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions.
- Conduct oral food challenges and provide ongoing patient supervision.
- Recognize, treat, document, and elevate allergic reactions and anaphylaxis when necessary.
- Perform skin testing and component testing as directed by providers.
- Educate patients and families regarding dosing schedules, home protocols, reaction recognition, and epinephrine administration.
- Reinforce treatment adherence and provide consistent support throughout the patient's care journey.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in Mod Med.
- Assist providers in delivering high-quality allergy and immunology care.
- Allergy skin prick testing
- Intradermal testing (if performed by the practice)
- Allergy immunotherapy injections
- Spirometry and pulmonary function testing
- Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) testing (if available)
- Biologic medication administration
- Venipuncture and specimen collection (practice dependent)
- Emergency management of allergic reactions
- Ensure emergency equipment, crash carts, medications, and epinephrine supplies remain fully stocked and ready for use.
- Follow clinical protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify workflow gaps and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Cross-train on adjacent workflows to support overall clinic operations.
- Active, unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to follow established protocols.
- Experience documenting accurately in electronic medical records.
- Exceptional communication and patient education skills.
- Reliable, accountable, and highly organized.
- BSN preferred.
- Experience in Allergy & Immunology strongly preferred.
- Pediatric nursing experience encouraged.
- Current PALS certification preferred.
- Experience managing acute allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
- Calm and confident during urgent clinical situations.
- Excellent bedside manner with children and families.
- Ability to explain complex treatment plans in a clear and reassuring way.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
