Job Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support the McKinney South location in the Medical Oncology department. Typical hours are Monday‑Friday 8:30‑5:00, with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Collaborate with inter‑professional teams.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Education/Training:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- 0‑3 years nursing experience with oncology experience strongly preferred (Level I).
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience with oncology experience strongly preferred (Level II).
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred (Level Senior).

Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs, and normal vision and hearing.
