The EH&S Specialist supports the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Team, reporting to the Manager, EH&S, and helps develop, enforce, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, programs, and procedures according to federal and state regulations and best practices.
Responsibilities- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor; actively engage, coach, and mentor employees and contractors on safe work practices.
- Apply a proactive safety philosophy to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures to prevent incidents and workplace injuries.
- Enforce and ensure adherence to all facility environmental, health, and safety standards and policies.
- Identify hazardous conditions, perform risk assessments, and develop corrective actions to reduce or eliminate risks.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver EH&S training to support compliance and employee understanding.
- Support root cause investigations for all incident types, including first aid cases, near misses, and serious injuries.
- Conduct or assist with equipment inspections, audits, and compliance assessments; ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on relevant EH&S laws, regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the Safety Committee to perform hazard audits, track issues, and drive resolution of safety concerns.
- Coordinate and participate in annual emergency preparedness drills with internal teams.
- Support facility legal compliance and environmental obligations, including waste management, storm water, and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist in emergency response activities.
- 3+ years of related Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and NFPA; familiarity with occupational injury best practices, environmental regulations, hazardous materials and waste processes.
- Effective communication across multiple levels in production and non-production environments.
- Problem-solving ability with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Proficiency with Teams, Excel, Word, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on approach within the EH&S system; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with some supervision; self-driven.
- Strong mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional judgment.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Occasionally required: prolonged standing, sitting, or walking.

- Professional office environment with standard office equipment; travel as needed.
Travel: 25% domestic travel.
Location:
McKinney, Texas. Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay: $66,600 – $86,600 per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, employee stock purchase and bonus plans, paid holidays, vacation, sick days, and additional programs. Benefits details available at the linked plan.
