QC Laboratory Technician
Job description:
The QC Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing and analyses of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods within a Nutraceutical Manufacturing company. This role ensures that products meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements through precise laboratory testing, data recording, and result interpretation. The QC Lab Technician will work closely with other departments to maintain compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, and other quality control standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Laboratory Testing & Analysis- Perform physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and product specifications.
- Use laboratory equipment and instruments to conduct analyses, including but not limited to spectrophotometers.
- Record and document test results accurately, ensuring that data is legible, organized, and traceable.
- Coordinates and completes Fed Ex drop-offs for product samples.
- Prepare and handle samples according to established protocols, ensuring that proper sampling techniques are followed and samples are correctly labeled and stored.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for materials and samples to maintain integrity until testing is completed.
- Maintain sample inventory and log samples for proper tracking and testing.
- Ensure all laboratory activities are performed in compliance with GMP, FDA regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all testing activities and results, including batch testing, equipment calibration, and environmental monitoring.
- Ensure that all laboratory data is documented, logged, and organized for easy retrieval and for compliance with audits.
- Operate laboratory equipment in accordance with SOPs, ensuring that all instruments are functioning correctly and accurately.
- Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunctions to management.
- Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly maintained according to established procedures to ensure accuracy and longevity.
- Work closely with the QC team to identify and resolve quality issues in raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Follow safety protocols and laboratory best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Ensure that the laboratory is clean and well-organized at all times and that chemicals, reagents, and equipment are stored safely according to regulatory standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits by ensuring all testing records and equipment documentation are available and up-to-date.
- Provide requested documentation and data during inspections and assist with any necessary corrective actions identified during audits.
