Member Specialist

Position Summary

Provides member service. Maintains checkout area, entrance, and exit, resolves member issues, promotes Sam's Club products, and assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Supports members with self‑service technology and performs safety sweeps to maintain a secure shopping environment.

Assists with training of Member Frontline Staff, delivers new program rollout training, and facilitates continuous learning and process improvement opportunities.

Manages documentation, logs, and emergency response procedures, ensuring compliance with company security and safety practices. Implements company policies, procedures, and ethics, including the Open Door Policy.

Works collaboratively to meet priorities, communicate progress, and adopt improvement strategies. Demonstrates teamwork, integrity, and a customer‑first mindset.

• Maintain checkout, entrance, and exit areas; zone and organize merchandise.
• Resolve member concerns, promote products and services, and assist purchasing decisions.
• Process member purchases, including payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Conduct safety sweeps and report unsafe situations.
• Handle merchandise safely and report shrink or damage.
• Maintain paperwork, logs, and documentation; execute emergency response procedures.
• Train and mentor Member Frontline Associates on processes and new technology.

• Retail experience operating front‑end equipment (cash register).
• Experience using mobile retail applications.
• Strong customer service skills and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00. Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
