Position Summary

The Head Stocker leads the stocking team to ensure shelves, displays, and backroom areas are fully stocked, organized, and maintained to company standards. This role supports efficient product flow from delivery to sales floor, ensuring a clean, safe, and customer‑ready store environment.

Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Supervise and direct stockers in daily stocking, facing, and organization tasks
  • Train, coach, and support team members to meet productivity standards
  • Assign workload based on deliveries, priorities, and store needs
  • Promote a safe, efficient, and team‑oriented work environment
Stocking & Merchandising
  • Ensure shelves, endcaps, and displays are consistently stocked and properly faced
  • Oversee unloading and breakdown of trucks to ensure timely stocking
  • Verify proper product placement according to planograms and merchandising standards
  • Maintain accurate product rotation (FIFO) to minimize shrink
Inventory & Backroom Organization
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized backroom
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of backstock
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate out‑of‑stocks to department managers
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits
Operational Excellence
  • Support store readiness for opening, peak hours, and promotional events
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety practices, and operational procedures
  • Assist with seasonal resets and ad changes
Customer Service
  • Provide friendly and helpful service to customers on the sales floor
  • Assist customers in locating products and answering questions
  • Help maintain a positive shopping experience through well-stocked shelves
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous retail or stocking experience required
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, including backroom and sales floor
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced retail setting
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
