Summary

The individual is responsible for pulling and stocking dry, freezer, and refrigerated goods daily. They ensure the expedition and stocking of deli transfers and invoices in a timely fashion and provide extraordinary shopping experiences for guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.
  • Clean/dust shelves, cases, freezers, products, and displays.
  • Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock, monitor inventory levels and restock as needed.
  • Stock shelves and cases, front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness.
  • Review for out of date items, move close dated products to sell faster, and pull out of date products for transfer.
  • Maintain contact with merchandisers; submit spoilage reports and sales on close dated items.
  • Check price changes and key tags daily, ensuring all products have updated and readable price and key tags.
  • Be aware of upcoming sales; display proper signage before the sale and remove afterward.
  • Set up displays, arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables to promote sales.
  • Update end caps and displays to always be full and shopper accessible.
  • Prepare promotional events as necessary.
  • Work with other departments on cross‑merchandising and displays.
  • Check DCI products for sale items and ensure quick sale.
  • Order product in a timely manner: POs and transfers.
  • Check transfer status daily, prepare transfers before deadlines, put stock out from the transfer truck in a timely manner.
  • Keep track of basket making items, bows, stuffing, baskets.
  • Know and actively demonstrate superior product knowledge.
  • Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
  • Greet guests, engage in conversation with a smile and helpful demeanor; remember the guest always comes first.
  • Recommend merchandise based on the guest’s needs or desires, focusing on in‑house brands.
  • Answer guests’ questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
  • Build client relationships with regular guests.
  • Special order products for guests when necessary; follow up with the guest.
  • Carry product to register counters and carry out products for guests as needed.
  • May be asked to run a cash register or receive as business dictates.
  • Work with the receiver to oversee product coming in and address any issues.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow‑moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process as needed.
  • Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
  • Limit use of personal cell phone to work‑related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carry out directives of management efficiently.
  • Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
  • Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
  • Possess time‑management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to manage stress in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
  • Constantly stand, lift, carry, walk, and bend; reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools; push and/or pull 50–100 pounds or more regularly.
  • Communicate with and understand team members and guests.
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by management.
  • Perform occasional bathroom cleaning.
  • Attendance and timeliness are required; this is not a job you can do from home.

Qualifications
  • Over 21 years of age.
  • Retail sales and stocking experience preferred; willingness to learn is also acceptable.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; prior experience may substitute.
