As a Cake Decorator at Target, you will create a welcoming experience for guests, prepare and decorate cakes and cupcakes, and maintain high standards of food safety and presentation.

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing guest needs while operating during all hours of store operations.
• Execute food & Beverage processes: deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, inventory accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and storing reserve product.
• Engage with guests to capture and fulfill customized cake orders.
• Maintain Food & Beverage Standards and produce, package, label items according to production cards.
• Prep, ice and decorate cakes and cupcakes that are seasonally relevant and meet production specifications.
• Follow all food‑safety requirements, monitor and record temperature‑sensitive items.
• Identify and process damaged, recalled or expired items per Target policies.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Maintain accurate perishable inventory records.
• Demonstrate knowledge of store tools, products and services to solve guest issues.
• Care for in‑store equipment and personal protective equipment following control guidelines.
• Show ethical conduct, safety and compliance in all tasks.
• Work safely, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and drive‑up, maintaining a compliance culture.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks.
• Engage guests to help solve specific needs and thank them for choosing Target.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

• Minimum 18 years of age or older.
• Previous cake‑decorating experience preferred, but not required.
• Artistic skill to design and execute custom high‑level cake decorations.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammates.
• Ability to communicate on handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, lifting up to 44 pounds.
• Flexible schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, peak shopping times.
• Work in temperatures ranging from 34°F to
  -10°F.
• Work in environments with potential allergens.
• Remain mobile during the shift; shift length may vary.
