Retail Counter Associate & Event Manager

The Range in McKinney, a family-owned indoor shooting range, is looking for a 21‑year‑old Retail Counter Associate who also serves as an Event Manager. The role requires excellent customer service skills, flexibility to work weekends and holidays, and the ability to handle firearms responsibly in a retail environment.

Hourly pay: $16–$17 per hour. Up to 35 hours per week. Position starts after July 20th. Employee discount available.

• Greet members and guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Perform sales transactions using a computerized point‑of‑sale system.
• Assign shooting lanes and coordinate range traffic to ensure smooth customer flow.
• Assist with firearm rentals and, after training, help members/guests select new or rental firearms.
• Conduct 4473 and NICS background checks of members after training.
• Answer phone calls and provide information on products, memberships, and classes.
• Sell ammunition, memberships, classes, and merchandise.
• Communicate safety requirements to members and guests after training.
• Perform opening and closing tasks for the retail area.
• Maintain the retail inventory and keep the area clean and organized.
• Support event operations when needed, including staffing and vendor coordination.
• Coordinate with caterers, restaurants, and outside vendors for events.
• Schedule staffing and monitor event execution.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and policies at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Strong customer service and people skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Independent, able to multitask and work without direction.
• Background check required; background check results must be satisfactory.
• Must pass a drug test and a lead level test.
• Must be legally able to purchase a firearm in the United States; otherwise, will not be considered.
• Reliable transportation to the workplace.
• Willingness to learn about the firearms industry and work within the specified safety guidelines.
• Comfortable handling firearms in a retail setting.
• Ability to say “no” when necessary and maintain professional standards.
