Role OverviewCould you be our next Security Manager, Executive Protection? Globe Life is looking for a Security Manager, Executive Protection, to join the team!
This role is responsible for developing and managing Executive Protection programs as a key member of the Security management team, reporting to the Director, Personnel Security. Responsibilities span the management of armed and unarmed guard forces, security design, threat assessments, travel planning, secure transportation, medical support, physical access control, surveillance systems, at-risk executive protection, and incident response, all while maintaining discretion.
This role also collaborates with HR and IT Security stakeholders on holistic identity management.
This is an on-site position located in McKinney, Texas.
What You Will Do- Conduct comprehensive threat assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities in the client's lifestyle, travel, and professional activities.
- Provide physical close protection at residences, workplaces, and public events.
- Plan and coordinate advanced logistics, including mapping secure routes, inspecting venues in advance, and coordinating with local authorities.
- Drive clients using defensive and evasive tactics.
- Utilize counter-surveillance to identify potential threats or hostile surveillance.
- Provide initial medical care if necessary.
- Oversee armed and unarmed guard force according to risk management priorities.
- Monitor and maintain SLAs for 3rd party protection contractors.
- Direct investigations related to Executive Protection incidents and recommend policy changes to prevent recurrence.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 1–3 security professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular one-on-ones, and deliver timely performance feedback and formal reviews.
- Identify training needs and create development plans to build team capability and bench strength.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top security talent in partnership with HR.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while holding team members accountable for results and quality standards.
- Guide the team through organizational change with clear communication and steady leadership.
- Resolve team conflicts and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Design and direct protection services for special events on/off Company property.
- Monitor and direct Emergency Response operational plans and related activities, as required.
- Coordinate security requirements and participate in planning events.
- Conduct gap analysis of current capabilities to accepted standards and make recommendations to management regarding ways to mitigate risk.
- Advise the Director, Personnel Security as a subject matter expert and help prepare for executive steering committee and board discussion on physical threat identification and mitigation.
- Perform other duties assigned as necessitated by identified threats, incident management, changes to the threat profile of The Company, or changes to Company strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or Security Management, or equivalent military and/or law enforcement experience.
