Field Diesel Mechanic – CES

Overview

Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES) at United Rentals. Perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer owned equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring safe, skilled, and professional service.

• Safely maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools using independent judgment.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) on a daily basis.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment and maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment and parts as assigned.
• Carry out other duties as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background on various engines.
• Owns tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. frequently.
• Position is deemed safety‑sensitive per United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
