Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

The Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician supports and oversees repair of Walmart’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment across local retail stores. The role requires commercial HVAC/R skills and the use of hand, power, and digital tools to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC/R techniques.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move on ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• TypeI/TypeII EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs, work on ladders, and function at heights.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Four years of mechanical maintenance or construction experience in commercial HVAC/R, building controls, or a related field.

Hourly wage range $23.00 – $45.00. Additional premium pay may be awarded from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
