Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all commercial equipment supporting our stores.

• Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
• Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
• Manage work orders and maintenance schedules, including required written and electronic documentation such as expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules and complete assigned PMs within the specified timeframe.
• Conduct training for Store Associates on proper care and cleaning of equipment.

• Diagnose and repair equipment to maintain operational readiness.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and submit reports.
• Collaborate with store associates and management to schedule maintenance activities.
• Provide clear, respectful communication regarding maintenance status and procedures.

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, or food equipment.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record for at least 3 years and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Eligibility to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Strong customer service orientation with clear, transparent communication.
• Effective time‑management and personal accountability.
• Ability to adapt to changing demands and identify priorities using solid judgment.
• Team‑oriented mindset and alignment with Servant Leadership principles.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in a related trade within the city or state of the job location.
• Proficiency with intermediate level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
