Streets Maintenance Technician I (and other levels) Compensation Levels
- Streets Maintenance Technician I (#9926 (W1)): $42,431.01 - $61,526.40 annually / $20.39 - $29.58 hourly.
- Streets Maintenance Technician II (#9927 (W2)): $44,977.43 - $65,218.80 annually / $21.62 - $31.35 hourly.
- Streets Maintenance Technician III (#9928 (W3)): $47,676.50 - $69,132.54 annually / $22.92 - $33.23 hourly.
- Streets Maintenance Technician IV (#9929 (W4)): $50,537.36 - $73,280.88 annually / $24.29 - $35.23 hourly.
Under direct supervision of the Streets Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to perform general repair and maintenance of streets, drainage systems, signs, and signals. This classification requires manual level work and includes responsibilities such as preparing work areas, tooling, and equipment, and may perform other related functions as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Participates in all phases of streets, gutter drainage and alley repair and construction.
- Assists preparing work areas and securing job sites by setting up cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices.
- Assists in preparing tools, materials, and equipment necessary for various job assignments.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools by cleaning and servicing regularly.
- Makes repairs in pavement, curb, gutter and sidewalk using epoxy based chemicals and products with supervision.
- Operates simple to moderately complex equipment, such as concrete vibrator, jack hammer, concrete saw, pavement grinder and motorized/non-motorized hand tools.
- Maintains operational records, schedules and fills out work orders.
- Responds to emergency situations after hours and/or on weekends.
- Participates in establishing traffic control devices such as barricades and cones.
- Guides traffic flow at work sites.
- Assists with setup, teardown, and clean up of special events and meetings throughout the City.
- Conducts safety inspections of vehicles and equipment, sets up barricades, cones, and road signs, and wears protective gear as indicated for the work assignment.
- Assists other City employees during storms and national disaster.
- Complies with all written City policies and procedures.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in City and department attendance policies and procedures.
- Assist with crack seal operations.
- Assist with all asphalt finishing hand tools.
- Assist with filling potholes with hot mix asphalt.
- Assist with pavement reconstruction and repairs.
- Assist with setting up forms and rebar.
- Assists crew members with small hand tools like shovels and concrete rakes.
- Assist with shooting elevations.

- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
