Equipment Operator
Collin County Government is seeking candidates for the position of Equipment Operator. An Equipment Operator is responsible for but, not limited to, repairing and maintaining asphalt and concrete structures including streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, bridges, landscapes and culverts. Work is performed under the direction of the Foreman. Primary Functions Operates various types of equipment for transportation of personnel, supplies and other equipment.
Operates heavy construction equipment to make asphalt and concrete repairs. Serves as a member of the first response team that assists in emergencies such as snow, ice and storm damage debris removal. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Must have at least two (2) years of experience operating and working with heavy equipment are required.
Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record. Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
