Position: HVAC/R Service Technician (2+ yrs exp REQ) in McKinney

Job Description

Arctic Air Heating & Cooling is looking for an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team. This position performs service, maintenance, repair, and installation work on residential HVAC systems, light commercial HVAC equipment, and restaurant refrigeration equipment.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and treats customers with respect.

Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Texas HVAC Technician Registration.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Experience with residential HVAC systems, rooftop units, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines, and restaurant refrigeration equipment strongly.
  • Skilled in diagnosing equipment problems and reading wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
  • Comfortable working independently, using HVAC diagnostic tools and electrical meters, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, working in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and mechanical rooms, and working indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC, light commercial HVAC, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacements.
  • Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines, prep tables, and related equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment to complete repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, and other service equipment.
  • Test equipment to verify proper operation.
  • Complete electronic service tickets, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Explain findings, repair options, and completed work to customers.
  • Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment assigned to service vehicles.
  • Reconcile work orders, vendor receipts, packing slips, and timesheets.
  • Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Arctic Air positively at all times.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.
