Full Time

Under general supervision, performs technical tasks in the operation of the wastewater collection and/or stormwater system. Employees in this classification operate basic manhole inspection equipment, utilize GIS maps and possess basic knowledge of a CCTV (Push Camera).

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by experience with CCTV equipment, a valid Texas Class A CDL with the ability to obtain tankers endorsement within 12 months of employment, a Wastewater Collections I license, completed competent person training, confined space entry training, and a Work Zone Traffic Control/Qualified Flagger certificate. Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen and background check, holding a valid Class A commercial Texas Driver's License, obtaining the National Incident Merit System (NIMS) certificate IS-100 and IS-700 within 6 months of employment, and being available for 12-hour shifts during storms or natural disasters.

Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Some tasks require visual and odor perception and discrimination.

There is limited exposure to environmental conditions. Tasks may require exposure to strong odors and/or smoke, traffic hazards, extreme heat/cold or extreme weather conditions.
