The Facilities Maintenance HVAC/Building Systems Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring, coordinating, and performing of the operations, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, components, and associated support systems within City facilities. The supervisor is required to perform complex HVAC technical, investigative, and supervisory duties requiring a higher level of knowledge and skill. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the building systems maintain the appropriate comfort level in the building spaces.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing performance evaluations, developing and implementing maintenance procedures, diagnosing and repairing faulty components, managing service requests, overseeing general maintenance, responding to emergency situations, determining equipment replacement timing, reading blueprints, and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by HVAC Technical School completion, 7 years HVAC maintenance and repair experience and supervisory experience, and possession of ACR Class A license, ACR Certified Technician License with TDLR, CFC Reclamation and Recycling License Type I, II and III, and Mobile Air. Preferred qualifications include an Associate of Applied Science in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology.

Conditions of employment include possession of a Class C Texas Driver's License, passing a drug screen and background check, working on-call, additional certifications may be required, and periodic CJIS background check.

Physical demands involve heavy physical effort, working in confined spaces and at heights, and exposure to extreme conditions, strong odors, dust, pollen, and toxic chemicals. The work environment may risk exposure to extreme cold/heat or extreme weather conditions.
