Building Maintenance Tech II - HVAC Tech
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Building Maintenance Tech II - HVAC Tech. A Building Maintenance Tech II – HVAC tech is responsible for but, not limited to, maintaining heat, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment (HVAC) systems. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator.
Primary Functions
- Performing skilled work in diagnostic testing, repair, and maintenance.
- Conducting inspections and making necessary repairs to various structures and mechanical equipment.
- Performing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs and welding.
- Assisting with the renovation and remodeling of buildings and monitoring energy controls.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
- Must have over two (2) years of experience in building maintenance and four (4) years of HVAC work, with a strong emphasis in diagnostics.
- Must have at least six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- HVAC Technician Certificate and EPA License required.
- Mechanical A or B Contractor License preferred.
- Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required.
- Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
