SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under general supervision, performs technical tasks in the operation of the wastewater collection and/or storm water system. Employees in this classification assist with operating a Combo Truck, maintenance of all its equipment and preparing work site.

Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the operation of Combo Truck.
  • Assists in maintaining all combo truck equipment (nozzles, wands, vac cans).
  • Reads and understands GIS map with supervision
  • Assist with preparing work site and traffic control.
  • Responds to emergency sewer/stormwater requests.

OTHER

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND BEHAVIORS

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the below Minimum Qualifications may be an acceptable substitute.

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with tankers endorsement or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Must have Class C Texas Driver’s License.
  • Must obtain the National Incident Merit System (NIMS) certificate IS-100 and IS-700 within 6 months of employment.
  • During storms or natural disasters, staff will be divided into two 12-hour shifts. During storms or natural disasters, staff may be called in while on vacation.
