The Senior HVAC Field Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Garland, TX. This position is responsible for servicing, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including troubleshooting complex issues in the field. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and correcting mechanical, electrical, and control problems, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely. The technician will complete work orders, document service activities, communicate findings and recommendations to customers and supervisors, and support junior technicians through guidance and mentorship.
The role also involves adhering to safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices while maintaining a professional customer-facing presence.
- Strong technical skills in HVAC system troubleshooting and diagnosis, including complex mechanical and control issues.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
- Working knowledge of electricity and electrical components as they relate to HVAC systems.
- Experience with plumbing related to HVAC systems, such as condensate lines, piping, and related connections.
- Current EPA certification for handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Previous experience as an HVAC field technician, with senior-level responsibility preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety practices.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer sites as required.
- Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical certification in HVAC or a related field; state or local licensing is a plus.
