Overview
Raytheon has an opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer II to join our Surveillance Sensor RF Solutions Engineering Team in the Dallas, TX area. You will be part of a team designing and implementing innovative systems, applying advanced software engineering practices to develop next generation capabilities and help keep our country safe.
The Software organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Our precision software and firmware integrate operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software to bring together sensors, guidance, and flight control processing features to complete the mission. The Software organization comprises Centers across the country with 4000+ software engineers who design, develop, and build innovative solutions.

WhatYou Will Do
- Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
- Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
- Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
- This position may require occasional business-related travel.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
- Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.
- Active and transferrable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
- Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
- Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops pipeline implementation and use, including Static Code Analysis, Automated Build, and Automated Test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with Test-Driven Development approach.
- Hands-on experience with Git for version control and Git Lab for repository management.

This role is onsite: employees will work primarily onsite where essential to the development of our products.
Salary range: 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. Offers consider factors such as role, location, education, experience and skills. RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
