Responsibilities Fleet Utilization Monitoring and Optimization Support- Monitor and analyze utilization of heavy equipment across job sites and divisions.
- Identify underutilized, idle, or over utilized equipment and report findings to fleet leadership.
- Track equipment availability, active deployment, and standby status to support proactive fleet planning.
- Analyze utilization trends by equipment class, job type, and project duration.
- Provide data‑driven insights to support redeployment decisions, rental avoidance, and fleet right‑sizing initiatives.
- Verify and document equipment transfers, deployments, and job site movements within the ERP (Vista/Viewpoint) system and fleet management systems.
- Ensure equipment location and job assignments are accurately recorded.
- Work with project teams and dispatch to maintain accurate tracking of equipment.
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly utilization reports.
- Extract, consolidate, and analyze data from ERP (Vista/Viewpoint) systems and telematics platforms fleet tracking tools.
- Maintain dashboards and tracking tools used by fleet operations and leadership.
- Identify trends in equipment usage and provide recommendations to improve utilization.
- Provide accurate utilization data to support internal equipment billing processes.
- Validate equipment hours, job assignments, and deployment dates to ensure billing accuracy.
- Assist accounting and operations teams with equipment cost allocation.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date equipment records within ERP (Vista/Viewpoint), fleet management, and telematics systems.
- Audit fleet data to ensure correct equipment assignments, usage records, and location tracking.
- Identify data gaps, process inefficiencies, and reporting limitations within fleet systems.
- Assist in improving fleet reporting processes and automation.
- 3+ years of experience working with construction equipment, fleet operations, or heavy equipment rental.
- Strong understanding of fleet economics and equipment operations (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, SQL, data analysis).
- Experience generating operational or utilization reports.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and validation.
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience with fleet management, telematics, construction ERP and rental systems (Viewpoint/Vista, Rental Man or similar).
- Experience supporting equipment billing or cost tracking.
- Experience with telematics platforms (OEM or third‑party).
- Fleet utilization rate by equipment class.
- Equipment idle time.
- Accuracy of equipment location tracking.
- Timeliness and accuracy of fleet reports.
- Equipment redeployment recommendations.
- Primarily office‑based within the Fleet Department.
- Interaction with field personnel and operations teams.
- Occasional visits to equipment yards or job sites.
- Fast‑paced construction environment.
