Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Driver Check‑In Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our drivers are checked‑in accurately and all returned products are processed accordingly.

Responsibilities

As the Driver Check‑In Coordinator, you will be responsible for checking in delivery drivers and ensuring the accuracy of the check‑in and returns process. You will communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. You will function as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

  • Check‑in drivers upon returning from deliveries.
  • Receive drivers' receipts of the day's customer deliveries, reconcile cash and checks, and place them in the safe.
  • Examine and verify all returned items to be re‑entered into inventory.
  • File Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company vehicle maintenance reports.
  • Reconcile damaged goods and returned items and re‑enter items into the appropriate categories within the inventory system, as required.
  • Communicate with inventory personnel over quality‑related concerns.
  • Communicate with drivers, department managers, and others regarding delivery challenges.
  • Assist in the coordination of vehicle repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Typical Shift Responsibilities
  • Check in 20‑30 trailers per shift.
  • Operate pallet jacks regularly and occasionally use a forklift.
  • Unload trailers and reload them if there are discrepancies.
  • Return products to inventory correctly and efficiently.
  • Strip pallets from trailers and remove bulkheads.
  • Clean the inside of trailers.
  • Stack pallets and maintain organization in the warehouse.
  • Perform clerical tasks like issuing credits to customers, email follow‑ups, and documenting temperatures for frozen/cooler items.
  • Correct miss‑picks and assist with trailer yard counts as needed.
  • If you hold a CDL, assist with yard mule tasks, such as moving trailers to different dock doors.
  • Assist with loading tasks based on business needs.
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 80 pounds or more.
  • Ensure safety compliance while working in temperature‑controlled areas (freezer, cooler, ambient).
Pay

Starting $18 per hour.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 6+ months in a warehouse environment, administrative support performing basic math and computer data entry skills.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The role is 10% clerical and 90% warehouse and distribution work, physically demanding and requiring work in freezers, coolers, and ambient‑temperature areas.
  • Experience with forklift, pallet jack usage, unloading and reloading trailers; handling of trucks and trailer yard tasks; CDL desirable.
