Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Yard Driver, Non-CDL, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting tractor trailers on Operating Company property, including loading docks and designated parking areas, and to off‑site maintenance or inspection facilities.

The Yard Driver, Non-CDL is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities
  • Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
  • Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
  • Transports tractor trailers to off‑site maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
  • Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

6+ months driving experience

Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.

Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.

Valid non-commercial driver's license

Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)

Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years

Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

Preferred qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

1+ years warehouse distribution industry experience

1+ years of Yard Driver experience

Experience backing semi-trailers to docks

Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., People Net, Samsara)

Pass road test (onsite)

Must be available to work 2nd shift.

Schedule:

Sunday – 8 a.m. until finished
Monday – 1 p.m. until finished
Tuesday – 3 p.m. until finished
Wednesday – 1 p.m. until finished
Thursday – 1 p.m. until finished
