The Government & Public Sector practice of Ernst & Young LLP provides a full range of consulting and audit services to Federal, State, Local, and Education clients, helping them achieve mission outcomes such as protecting the nation, increasing public safety, and improving healthcare.

As a Senior Assurance professional, you will play a key role in the growth of the practice, leveraging technology, knowledge, and learning resources to provide high‑quality assurance services while interacting with clients and developing your expertise in data integrity across accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory domains.

• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for clients.
• Build and maintain relationships; stay current on industry, profession, and business developments.
• Lead field work, inform supervisors of engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance.

• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with audit client personnel, assess client satisfaction and maintain proactive contact throughout the year.
• Direct field work, inform supervisors of audit engagement status and manage assurance staff performance.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
• Develop people by delegating audit tasks and providing guidance to assurance staff.
• Provide performance feedback, training, and reviews for assurance staff.
• Contribute ideas and opinions to the team, listening and responding to other members.
• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.

• Bachelor’s degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience, or a graduate degree and 1–2 years of related work experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Sufficient coursework for CPA certification upon passing the exam.
• Excellent project‑management skills.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Dedication to teamwork and leadership.
• Integrity within a professional environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.

• CPA licensure in your work state.
• CGFM and/or CDFM certification.

• A comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including base salary ranging from $78,400 to $129,300 (and higher ranges for certain metro areas) and a Total Rewards package with medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
• Hybrid work model, with 40–60% onsite collaboration expected for external client‑serving roles.
