PositionFinancial Analyst – Level 3 (Space Sector SOX Team). Reports to the Manager of Technical Accounting and SOX. Responsibilities include defining and implementing SOX internal controls strategy and framework, collaborating with sector Financial Reporting, Planning, Program Finance, and Shared Service Centers. The role is based in McLean, VA. The position may also be filled at Level 2.

- Experience taking SOX compliance tasks from concept to implementation.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Independent work with limited oversight, exercising sound judgment and taking ownership.
- Evaluate and design the operating effectiveness of SOX internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Work with external and internal auditors and Corporate SOX PMO to plan and implement control environment assessments, coordinating timing and execution of process walk‑throughs and operating effectiveness testing cycles.
- Support division and functional teams in performing and monitoring SOX internal controls and processes.
- Provide general audit support, including document retrieval, review, and research.
- Support ongoing monitoring of internal controls and respond to related inquiries.
- Document findings and deficiencies, provide guidance on remediation actions, and monitor remediation activities to completion.
- Perform quarterly and year‑end SOX reporting tasks, administer SOX certifications for the entire Space sector, and report to Corporate SOX PMO.
- Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures related to internal controls over financial reporting and SOX.
- Support routine and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Level 2:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) and 2+ years of relevant professional experience – OR – Master’s degree or CPA and 1+ years of relevant professional experience. - Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) and 5+ years of relevant work experience – OR – a Master’s degree or CPA and 3+ years of relevant work experience. - Experience in performing and supporting audit activities.
- Data and financial analysis skills, including use of spreadsheets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, yet works well in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience.
- Operational experience with SAP and/or Costpoint in aerospace/defense production environments.
- Industry‑relevant experience in external or internal audit, SOX internal controls, risk management, accounting and/or finance.
- Public accounting experience.
- CPA license or CPA candidacy in the near term.
- Experience with SAP and/or HFM.
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 – $.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 – $.
