Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E) Specialist to join an exciting and growing opportunity supporting our Intelligence Community (IC) clients. This role is ideal for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or experienced federal financial management professional with expertise in capital assets, real property, equipment accountability, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will support clients in strengthening PP&E governance, improving asset accountability, enhancing audit readiness, and modernizing financial and property management processes across complex federal environments.
Beyond traditional accounting, this position leverages advanced data analytics and emerging artificial intelligence technologies to improve asset visibility, automate reconciliation activities, and provide actionable insights for decision-makers. Team members will work with technologies to analyze large asset inventories, reconcile financial and logistics data, identify control deficiencies, develop executive dashboards, and support enterprise modernization initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to combine accounting expertise, business consulting, technology, and data analytics to improve the stewardship of mission-critical assets supporting national security.
- Support Intelligence Community clients with PP&E accounting, governance, and asset management initiatives.
- Evaluate compliance with federal PP&E accounting standards, policies, and internal control requirements.
- Support financial statement audits by preparing audit-ready documentation, testing controls, and responding to auditor requests.
- Perform reconciliations between general ledger balances, subsidiary asset records, logistics systems, and property management systems.
- Analyze capital asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, impairments, and asset lifecycle activities.
- Evaluate capitalization policies and ensure compliance with FASAB, Treasury, and agency-specific accounting guidance.
- Conduct physical inventory validation, asset existence testing, and property accountability assessments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between financial, acquisition, logistics, and property records.
- Assess internal controls over property management, inventory accountability, capital asset reporting, and financial reporting.
- Develop Process Control Narratives (PCNs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and internal control documentation.
- Leverage agentic AI technologies to automate reconciliations, audit support activities, exception reporting, and asset analytics.
- Support ERP modernization and property management system implementations, enhancements, and data migrations.
- Perform business process improvement initiatives focused on PP&E lifecycle management, accountability, and reporting.
- Prepare executive briefings, audit documentation, and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with finance, logistics, acquisition, facilities, engineering, and information technology stakeholders to improve enterprise asset management.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- 5+ years of experience supporting federal financial management, PP&E accounting, capital asset management, or audit readiness.
- 2+ years of experience supporting Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or other national security organizations.
- Strong knowledge of federal PP&E accounting principles, capital asset lifecycle management, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting federal financial statement audits, internal controls, and audit remediation activities.
- Knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) standards related to Property, Plant, and Equipment.
