We are seeking a Director of Business Development for an exciting, full-time opportunity!
The Director of Business Development will focus on pursuing government and commercial business opportunities. This role collaborates with program management, contracts, operations, and finance teams to drive company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand company capabilities and customer needs to align services effectively.
- Develop short- and long-term plans for new and existing Federal Civilian and DoD business.
- Oversee business pursuits and provide prioritization input based on company strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry partners, and subcontractors.
- Regularly engage with executives and business unit leaders to discuss pipelines, industry events, and growth targets.
- Participate in industry associations and briefings.
- Manage opportunity evaluation tools and lead go/no-go decision processes.
- Coordinate resources for RFIs, proposals, and oral presentations.
- Lead and manage a Proposal Manager.
- Track opportunity timelines, reviews, and milestones.
- Support contracts in client responses and submittals.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Federal business development experience in a small business federal contractor environment with hands-on teamwork.
- Experience in Civilian and DoD market segments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with C-Level executives and technical experts.
- Proven success in identifying, pursuing, and nurturing business opportunities.
- Strong record in capture, proposal strategy, and execution.
- Ability to lead business development efforts, including opportunity analysis, competitive intelligence, teaming strategy, and proposal responses.
- Experience managing personnel and developing internal training programs.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to inform corporate growth initiatives.
- Strong understanding of government procurement, Federal contracts, and regulations.
- Knowledge of Federal contract types (BPA, FSS, GWAC, IDIQ) and competitive landscape.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and managerial skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic leadership environment.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective meeting facilitation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
