Business Manager - Scenario Analysis
As a Business Analysis Manager at Capital One, you’ll use strategic and analytical skills to address major company challenges. You will collaborate with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that impact the bottom line, all in an environment that values insight, encourages responsibility, promotes learning, and rewards innovation.
The Risk Measurement and Capital Oversight team is responsible for governing Capital One’s material operational risks. To achieve this, the group facilitates scenario analysis workshops and creates strategic management frameworks. They maintain close partnerships with both first and second line risk leaders to oversee risk measurement and administration effectively.
Key Responsibilities and Skills Scenario Analysis- Evaluate Operational and Compliance Material Risks, partner with VP+ Senior Leadership to develop plausible, high-severity operational loss scenarios
- Ensure the defensibility of scenario results by analyzing them for consistency and soundness, using supporting data and analytics from both internal and external sources
- Understand and work across the various dimensions of operational risk programs and their impact on different business units
- Effectively manage deliverables under a fast paced environment. Identify and enable continuous improvements across the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the output is valuable and actionable
- Drive consensus among diverse expert opinions and effectively navigate competing objectives to ensure clarity in decision-making
- Leverage superior judgment, intuition, and strong relationships to effectively defend and gain support for key decisions
- Demonstrate impeccable written and oral communication skills, strategic influencing ability, and negotiation prowess to drive agreement
- Strategic and analytical expert with a record of data-driven problem-solving. Strong quantitative background to partner with both financial and non-financial operational risk teams
- Display business judgment, leadership, and integrity. Needs to be a decisive leader who balances a tenacious approach with business responsibility
- Results-focused with an intense drive to achieve goals and execute agendas within fluid environments
- At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
- Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in analysis
- 2+ years of experience in risk management
- 1+ year of experience in consulting
- 1+ years of experience in structuring executive-level decks and presentations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
